Estimated shipping only — your final shipping cost is confirmed at checkout.
The Digga Bigfoot 1200 Skid Steer Trencher is built for deeper, heavier trenching jobs where you need more reach and cutting capacity. It digs up to 48 inches deep with 6-, 8-, 10-, or 12-inch cutting widths, making it a good fit for utilities, drainage, water lines, electrical conduit, and other underground installations. Choose an Earth, Combo, or Diggatac chain to match the ground you’re working in, from clean soil to roots, rock, hard shale, asphalt, and frozen ground.
The Bigfoot 1200 also has features that make it easier to get a consistent trench from the skid steer. Digga’s Headstart Crumber System helps clear loose material from the bottom of the cut, the adjustable skid foot provides four preset digging depths and stays visible from the cab, and the large spoil auger moves excavated material away from the trench as you work. With a recommended hydraulic flow of 16–30 GPM, it gives you up to 4 feet of digging depth without requiring a high-flow skid steer.
Features
- 48-Inch Maximum Digging Depth: Dig up to 4 feet deep for utilities, drainage, water lines, conduit, and other underground installations.
- Four Cutting Widths: Choose a 6-, 8-, 10-, or 12-inch cut based on what you’re putting in the ground and how much material you need to remove.
- Four Depth Presets: Set the trencher for 24-, 32-, 40-, or 48-inch depths to help maintain a consistent cut.
- Headstart Crumber System: Helps clear loose material from the bottom of the trench without requiring you to stop and manually reposition the crumber after starting the cut.
- Adjustable Skid Foot: Helps maintain your selected trench depth throughout the job.
- Cab-Visible Skid Foot: The skid foot stays visible from the operator’s seat, making it easier to monitor depth and positioning while trenching.
- Large Spoil Auger: Carries excavated material away from the trench to help keep loose soil from falling back into the cut.
- Anti-Back Flex Chain Design: Helps prevent the chain from flexing backward when working through tougher ground.
- Three Chain Options: Choose Earth, Combo, or Diggatac based on the soil and ground conditions you’re working in.

How deep can the Bigfoot 1200 dig?
The Bigfoot 1200 can trench up to 48 inches deep. The adjustable skid foot provides preset digging depths of 24, 32, 40, and 48 inches.
What cutting widths are available?
You can configure the Bigfoot 1200 for a 6-, 8-, 10-, or 12-inch-wide trench.
How much hydraulic flow does the Bigfoot 1200 need?
This Bigfoot 1200 is designed for standard-flow skid steers with 16–30 GPM of auxiliary hydraulic flow. Digga also makes a separate high-flow configuration, but that is not the model offered on this page.
Do I need a high-flow skid steer?
No. This configuration is specifically intended to provide the Bigfoot 1200’s 48-inch digging depth without requiring a high-flow hydraulic system.
Which chain should I choose?
Earth is the straightforward choice for clean, relatively soft soil without rocks or roots. Combo combines earth and tungsten teeth for harder soil, roots, soft shale, and rocky conditions. Diggatac uses tungsten teeth throughout the chain for more demanding conditions such as rock, hard shale, asphalt, and frozen ground.
What does the Headstart Crumber System do?
The crumber follows the cutting chain and helps clean loose material from the bottom of the trench. Digga’s Headstart design lets it begin in the trench and stay engaged as you work, reducing the need to get out of the skid steer and reposition it after starting the cut.
What does the spoil auger do?
The spoil auger moves excavated soil away from the cutting chain and trench opening. This helps keep loose material from falling straight back into the trench and leaves the spoil alongside the cut for cleanup or backfilling.
What’s the difference between the Bigfoot 900 and Bigfoot 1200?
The Bigfoot 900 is the smaller option, digging up to 36 inches deep and using a 1 5/8-inch pitch chain. The Bigfoot 1200 steps up to a 48-inch maximum depth and heavier 2-inch pitch chain, with cutting widths up to 12 inches.
Note: Match the Bigfoot 1200 to your machine’s auxiliary hydraulic flow, hydraulic pressure, lift capacity, couplers, and mount. This standard-flow model requires 16–30 GPM, and the trencher weighs about 830 lbs. with a 6″ Combo chain, so attachment weight and stability should be considered along with hydraulic compatibility.

Dig Deeper With Your Skid Steer
Cut trenches up to 48 inches deep for jobs that need more depth than the Bigfoot 900 can provide, without bringing a dedicated trencher to the job site.
Keep Your Trench Consistent
Four preset depths and the adjustable skid foot make it easier to maintain the depth you need from one end of the trench to the other.
Spend Less Time Cleaning Up the Cut
The Headstart Crumber helps clean the trench bottom while the spoil auger moves excavated material away from the opening as you work.
Set It Up for the Ground You’re Digging
Choose your cutting width and chain type separately, giving you the right combination for the trench you’re cutting and the conditions underneath the machine.
