The ECHO Skid Steer Ice Scraper / Scarifier is built for breaking up hard-packed ice on gravel driveways, farm lanes, parking areas, and private roads. It is especially useful after ice storms, freeze-thaw cycles, packed snow, and winter weather turns gravel surfaces into a sheet of ice.
At 86″ wide, this attachment gives skid steer operators a simple, wide, and aggressive tool for loosening ice that a bucket or snow blade may slide over. It uses three replaceable scarifier blades made from AR400 steel to break up the ice and mix it back into the gravel surface. Instead of trying to peel everything away, it helps rough up the frozen layer, blend ice with loose gravel, and create a driveable surface while helping leave the gravel in place.
This attachment is not made for hard finished driving surfaces. Do not use it on pavement, blacktop, asphalt, concrete, pavers, sealed driveways, or finished lots. The scarifier blades are aggressive and can gouge, scrape, chip, or permanently damage those surfaces.

What is this attachment used for?
It is used to break up hard-packed ice on gravel driveways, lanes, parking areas, farm roads, and private roads.
Why is it good for gravel driveways?
It breaks the ice layer apart and mixes it with the gravel underneath. That helps create traction and a more driveable surface without trying to scrape the whole driveway clean.
Does it remove all the gravel?
No. The goal is not to peel the driveway down or push all the gravel off to the side. It is made to scarify the ice, rough up the surface, and help leave the gravel in place.
Why use this instead of a bucket?
A bucket edge can slide over packed ice or push gravel off the driveway. The scarifier blades are designed to bite into the ice and loosen it.
Is it good after an ice storm?
Yes. That is one of the best uses for it. It is built for hard, slick, compacted ice that forms after freezing rain, snowpack, and thaw-refreeze weather.
Can I use it on pavement or asphalt?
No. This attachment is not made for pavement, blacktop, asphalt, concrete, pavers, sealed driveways, or other finished hard driving surfaces. The AR400 scarifier blades can damage those surfaces.
Are the blades replaceable?
Yes. It uses three replaceable scarifier blades made from AR400 steel.
Does it require hydraulics?
No. This is a simple skid steer attachment designed to scrape and scarify without hydraulic functions.
Note: Final fitment depends on your machine’s mount, operating weight, traction, tire or track setup, and the surface being worked.

Turns Slick Ice Into a Driveable Surface
Breaks up hard-packed ice and mixes it with the gravel underneath to help create traction after ice storms.
Helps Leave Gravel in Place
Instead of pushing all your gravel off the driveway like a bucket or blade can, the scarifier design helps loosen the ice while keeping the gravel surface intact.
Great for Gravel Driveways
Built for rural driveways, farm lanes, private roads, and gravel lots where ice bonds down and becomes hard to remove cleanly.
Replaceable AR400 Blades
Three replaceable AR400 scarifier blades give the attachment bite and can be serviced when worn.
- Rural homeowners trying to make gravel driveways passable after ice storms.
- Farmers maintaining frozen lanes, yards, feed areas, and access roads.
- Acreage owners breaking up packed ice on private gravel roads and parking areas.
- Snow removal contractors working on gravel surfaces where ice bonds down.
