The ECHO SS Heli Skid turns a semi tractor into a removable helicopter landing and refueling platform. Built from the same removable SS platform concept, it gives ag operators a stable landing surface that can be moved between locations without dedicating a permanent truck or trailer to the job.
The platform is 8.5 ft wide and uses four hydraulic stabilizer arms, each with 18 inches of stroke, to help level and support the landing surface on uneven ground. Fuel or chemical tanks can be mounted below the platform, keeping the deck clear while making refilling easier from ground level.
For ag helicopter operators, applicators, and support crews, the SS Heli Skid gives you a mobile landing setup that can be positioned where the work is happening.
What is the ECHO SS Heli Skid?
The SS Heli Skid is a removable semi-mounted helicopter landing and refueling platform built for ag helicopter operations and mobile field support.
How does the platform stay stable on uneven ground?
The platform uses four hydraulic stabilizer arms with 18″ of stroke per arm. The four-point support system helps level and stabilize the landing surface when the truck is parked on uneven ground.
Why are the tanks mounted below the platform?
Below-deck tank placement keeps the landing surface clear and makes it easier to refill the helicopter from ground level.
Does the Heli Skid permanently convert the truck?
No. It is based on the removable ECHO SS platform concept, allowing the truck to be used for other work when the skid is removed.
Can the platform be moved between fields?
Yes. The semi-mounted design lets crews reposition the landing and refueling platform as the job moves.
What is the benefit of moving the platform closer to the field?
A closer refill point can reduce ferry time, shorten turnaround between loads, and help keep aerial application work moving efficiently.
Will it work with any helicopter?
Fitment should be confirmed based on the helicopter model, operating weight, landing gear footprint, truck setup, tank layout, and intended use.
Is this a certified permanent helipad?
No. This is a mobile field landing and refueling platform. Final setup and operation should follow the aircraft operator’s requirements and all applicable safety rules.
The ECHO SS Heli Skid is designed to work with most semi tractors using a standard fifth wheel / kingpin setup. Its adjustable frame allows fitment across a wide range of truck brands and configurations.

Stable Landing Surface in the Field
Four hydraulic support arms help level and stabilize the platform on uneven ground, giving helicopter crews a more consistent landing area away from the shop.
Easy Ground-Level Filling
Tanks can be placed below the landing surface, making it easier to fill the helicopter without lifting containers or working from the deck.
Removable Semi-Mounted Design
Based on the removable ECHO SS platform, the Heli Skid can be installed on a semi tractor without permanently converting the truck.
Move the Platform With the Job
Bring the landing and refueling platform closer to the application area to reduce ferry time and keep helicopter operations moving.
At ECHO Equipment, we actually use and support the equipment we sell. You’re not getting generic answers - you’re talking to people who understand how this equipment works in the field. That means faster answers, better recommendations, and no wasted time trying to figure things out on your own.
We’re easy to work with. If something breaks, tell us what actually happened and be honest with us (a good sense of humor doesn’t hurt either). We’re often known to help out even outside of standard warranty terms. And if it’s on us, we’ll own it and make it right. No excuses, no finger pointing - just real support when it matters.
