The ECHO SS Drone Skid is a specialized flatbed platform designed to transport and deploy agricultural spray drones using a semi tractor. Built off the proven ECHO Super Skid platform, this system allows operators to quickly convert a semi truck into a mobile drone operations base for field work.
The skid provides a stable platform for drone takeoff, landing, and transport, while also allowing operators to haul spray tanks, batteries, and support equipment between fields. With hydraulic folding wings that expand the working deck, the SS Drone Skid creates a large, stable launch area for drone operations while remaining narrow enough for safe road transport.
For many operators, the SS Drone Skid functions as a heavy-duty ag drone trailer alternative, allowing drones and support equipment to be transported and deployed directly from a semi truck.
Designed for quick installation, the system can typically be installed in about 15 minutes by experienced operators and around 30 minutes on average, allowing a semi tractor to quickly switch between standard hauling and drone operations.
Why use this instead of a trailer?
This lets you run your entire drone operation directly off your semi, eliminating the need for a trailer while making field-to-field moves faster and more efficient.
How long does it take to install or remove?
Most operators can install or remove the unit in about 15–30 minutes, allowing you to quickly switch your truck back to standard use when needed.
Is it stable enough for drone takeoff and landing?
Yes, the reinforced flat deck combined with the hydraulic wing extensions creates a wide, stable platform designed specifically for safe and consistent drone operations.
Can I run my full operation off this?
Yes, this platform is built to carry drones, spray tanks, batteries, chargers, and support equipment so you can operate fully mobile without additional vehicles.
Will this fit my semi truck?
Each unit is built with adjustable mounting points and is designed to fit most semi tractors with standard frame rails, with customization available if needed.
What makes this different from a regular flatbed?
This is a purpose-built drone operations platform with features like expandable wings, fast install, and equipment integration, not just a basic hauling deck.
How wide is it when deployed and in transport?
The deck stays road legal at around 8 ft wide during transport and expands out to roughly 16 ft when the hydraulic wings are deployed.
Is parts and support available long term?
Yes, this is part of the ECHO lineup and is built on a proven platform, with ongoing support and parts availability to keep your operation running.
The ECHO SS Drone Skid is designed to work with most semi tractors using a standard fifth wheel / kingpin setup. Its adjustable frame allows fitment across a wide range of truck brands and configurations.

At ECHO Eqpt, we actually use and support the equipment we sell. You’re not getting generic answers, you are talking to people who understand how this equipment works in the field. That means faster answers, better recommendations, and no wasted time trying to figure things out on your own.
We’re easy to work with. If something breaks, tell us what actually happened and be honest with us (a good sense of humor doesn’t hurt either). We’re often known to help out even outside of standard warranty terms. And if it’s on us, we’ll own it and make it right. No excuses, no finger pointing - just real support when it matters.
