The Digga 1DSS and 2DSS Mini Skid Steer Auger Drives give compact carriers a heavier-duty planetary drilling setup for jobs that need more torque than a light-duty mini-loader drive. The 1DSS is designed for 6–16 GPM and produces up to 1,691 ft-lbs. of torque, while the 2DSS handles 10–26 GPM and increases maximum torque to 2,625 ft-lbs. Both use a 2″ hex output shaft and are suited for fence posts, footings, landscaping, construction, agricultural work, and other drilling applications.
Each mini-loader package includes 87″ hydraulic hoses, flat-face quick disconnects, and a machine-specific mini-loader mount. Digga’s optional HALO Auger Alignment System is also available, giving the operator a visual alignment guide from the cab. Add the optional magnetic battery and zero function for cordless HALO operation and the ability to set a custom drilling angle.
Features
- Two Drive Options: Choose the 1DSS for 6–16 GPM machines or step up to the 2DSS for 10–26 GPM and substantially more torque.
- Heavy-Duty Planetary Drive: Digga’s compact planetary gearbox puts more drilling torque into a package sized for mini skid steers and compact utility loaders.
- 2″ Hex Output Shaft: Both models use a 2″ hex output shaft for a common heavy-duty drilling connection.
- Machine-Specific Mini Loader Mount: The package includes a mounting plate matched to the make and model of your machine.
- Complete Hydraulic Package: Includes 87″ hydraulic hoses and flat-face quick disconnects.
- Two-Piece Shaft Design: Digga separates the output shaft from the planetary carrier to help manage side loads without transferring additional load into the gearbox bearings.
- Optional HALO Alignment System: HALO uses LED indicators on the drive hood to give the operator a visual reference for keeping the drive aligned while drilling.
- Optional HALO Magnetic Battery: The magnetic battery kit provides cordless HALO power and adds the zero function, allowing the operator to establish a custom angle as the alignment reference.
- Extension Compatible: Both drives can be paired with a compatible extension when additional drilling depth is needed.

What’s the difference between the 1DSS and 2DSS?
The biggest differences are hydraulic flow and torque. The 1DSS is designed for 6–16 GPM and produces up to 1,691 ft-lbs. of torque. The 2DSS requires 10–26 GPM and produces up to 2,625 ft-lbs., making it better suited for larger holes and tougher drilling conditions.
Which auger drive should I choose for my mini skid steer?
Start with your machine’s auxiliary hydraulic flow. If your machine produces 6–16 GPM, the 1DSS is the natural fit. Machines producing at least 10 GPM can also use the 2DSS, which provides considerably more torque. Carrier capacity, hydraulic pressure, mount, and the type of drilling you plan to do should also be considered.
Why would I choose the 2DSS if my machine can run either model?
The 2DSS gives you more torque and a larger recommended drilling capacity. Digga rates the 1DSS for up to 24″ in earth and 12″ in clay or shale, while the 2DSS is rated for up to 30″ in earth and 24″ in clay or shale. If you regularly drill larger holes or work in tougher ground, the 2DSS gives you more room to work.
What comes with the mini skid steer auger-drive package?
The package includes the selected 1DSS or 2DSS drive, 87″ hydraulic hoses, flat-face quick disconnects, and a mini-loader mount matched to your machine.
What mount do I need?
Digga uses machine-specific mounting plates for the mini-loader package. Provide the make and model of your mini skid steer so the appropriate mount can be supplied. ASV and Terex mounting configurations carry an additional frame charge.
Can I use an extension with the 1DSS or 2DSS?
Yes. Both drives can be used with a compatible Digga extension when additional drilling depth is needed.
What is HALO?
HALO is Digga’s optional auger-alignment system. LED indicators mounted around the drive hood give the operator a visual reference from the cab, making it easier to see when the drive is moving away from the desired alignment.
How is HALO powered?
HALO-equipped drives include an extension cable and an in-cab 12V power plug. Digga also offers a magnetic battery kit for cordless operation, so a power cable does not have to run back to the cab.
What does the HALO magnetic battery’s zero function do?
The zero function lets the operator establish a chosen drive position as the alignment reference. Instead of using only vertical plumb as the target, you can position the drive at the angle you want, set that angle as zero, and use HALO’s indicators to help maintain it while drilling.
Can these drives be used for screw anchors?
Digga allows DSS drives to be configured for anchoring, but an Energy Control Valve is required for full drilling-drive warranty protection when a DSS drive is used for anchoring. A standard drilling setup should not automatically be treated as an anchor-drive package.
Note: Match the auger drive to your mini skid steer’s auxiliary hydraulic flow, hydraulic pressure, lift capacity, couplers, and mounting configuration. The 1DSS requires 6–16 GPM, while the 2DSS requires 10–26 GPM. Machines in the 10–16 GPM overlap can often run either drive, while machines above 16 GPM should generally be paired with the 2DSS. Mounting plates are machine-specific.

More Torque for a Mini Skid
The 1DSS and 2DSS bring Digga’s planetary auger-drive design to compact carriers, with the 2DSS producing up to 2,625 ft-lbs. of torque for tougher drilling.
Choose the Drive Around Your Hydraulics
The 6–16 GPM 1DSS and 10–26 GPM 2DSS make it easier to match the attachment to the hydraulic output of your machine instead of forcing one drive to cover everything.
Drill Larger and Tougher Holes
The 2DSS steps up the recommended drilling capacity to 30″ in earth and 24″ in clay or shale for jobs where the smaller drive may run out of room.
Start with a Complete Mini-Loader Package
The machine-specific mount, 87″ hoses, and flat-face quick disconnects are included, taking several fitment pieces out of the ordering process.
Make Alignment Easier with HALO
Optional HALO gives the operator an easy-to-see alignment reference, while the magnetic battery and zero function make cordless and angled drilling possible.
- Fence and gate posts
- Deck and foundation footings
- Pole and sign installation
- Landscaping
- Tree and shrub planting
- Agricultural projects
- Construction drilling
- Utility work
- Earth drilling
- Clay and shale drilling
- Larger holes that need more torque than a light-duty mini-loader drive
- Contractors regularly drilling on uneven terrain
- Straight or angled drilling with optional HALO equipment
