The Digga Mini Skid Steer Auger Drive is a compact drilling setup built specifically for mini skid steers and compact utility loaders. With a 6–16 GPM hydraulic range, it’s a good fit for smaller carriers tackling fence posts, footings, landscaping, planting, and other everyday drilling work. Choose between the 1MDS2 with 2-way swing or the 1MDS4 with 4-way swing depending on how much movement and alignment flexibility you want from the drive. Each package includes 66″ hydraulic hoses, flat-face quick disconnects, and a mini-loader mount specific to your machine.
Features
- 2-Way or 4-Way Swing: Choose the 1MDS2 for 2-way swing, which lets the auger pivot forward and backward as it hangs from the mount. The 1MDS4 adds side-to-side movement for 4-way swing, giving the auger more freedom to hang vertically when the machine is sitting on uneven or sloped ground.
- Built for Mini Skid Steers: The compact drive is designed for mini loaders with auxiliary hydraulic flow from 6–16 GPM.
- Machine-Specific Mini Loader Mount: Each package includes a mounting plate matched to the make and model of your mini skid steer.
- Two Output Shaft Options: Available with either a 2″ hex shaft or 2-9/16″ round shaft to accommodate different auger setups.
- Complete Hydraulic Package: Includes 66″ hydraulic hoses and flat-face quick disconnects along with the mini-loader mount.
- Planetary Gearbox: Digga’s compact planetary gearbox delivers up to 2,119 ft-lbs. of torque for drilling in earth, clay, shale, and other demanding ground conditions.

What does 2-way or 4-way swing mean on an auger drive?
“Swing” describes the directions the auger drive can pivot from its mounting point. A 2-way swing allows the drive to pivot forward and backward, helping the auger hang vertically as the loader arms move. A 4-way swing adds side-to-side movement, so the drive can pivot in both directions. That extra movement makes it easier for the auger to find vertical when the mini skid steer is sitting on uneven or sloped ground.
What’s the difference between the 1MDS2 and 1MDS4?
The 1MDS2 uses a 2-way swing, allowing the auger drive to pivot forward and backward. The 1MDS4 uses a 4-way swing, adding side-to-side pivoting as well. The drive performance is otherwise the same, including the 6–16 GPM hydraulic range and available output shafts.
Should I choose the 1MDS2 or 1MDS4?
The 1MDS2 is the simpler, less expensive option and works well when you’re usually drilling from relatively level ground. The 1MDS4 costs $210 more and gives the auger more freedom to hang vertically when the carrier is uneven or positioned at an angle. If you regularly drill on slopes, rough terrain, or varied job sites, the additional movement of the 4-way swing can make alignment easier.
What hydraulic flow do these auger drives require?
Both the 1MDS2 and 1MDS4 are designed for mini skid steers with 6–16 GPM auxiliary hydraulic flow.
What comes with the Digga Mini Skid Steer Auger Drive?
The package includes the selected auger drive and frame, 66″ hydraulic hoses, flat-face quick disconnects, and a mini-loader mounting plate specific to your machine. The auger bit is selected separately.
Do I need to choose a mount?
The mounting plate is included in the package, but it is specific to the make and model of your mini loader. Your machine information is needed so the correct mount can be supplied.
What is the difference between the 2″ hex and 2-9/16″ round shaft options?
The output shaft determines which auger bits and accessories can connect to the drive. Choose the shaft that matches the auger system you plan to use. Digga specifically lists its A4 and RC4 augers and XO20 extension for the 2″ hex configuration.
How large of a hole can the 1MDS drill?
Digga rates the drive for augers up to 24″ in earth and 12″ in clay or shale. Actual drilling performance depends on ground conditions, hydraulic output, auger selection, and hole depth.
Can I use an auger extension?
Yes. Digga lists the XO20 as the suitable extension for the 2″ hex setup.
Note: The 1MDS2 and 1MDS4 are designed for mini skid steers and compact utility loaders with 6–16 GPM auxiliary hydraulic flow. The mounting plate is specific to the make and model of the carrier, so machine fitment needs to be confirmed when ordering. Hydraulic flow, pressure, couplers, lift capacity, and mount configuration should all be checked before purchase.

Put Your Mini Skid to Work Drilling
The compact 1MDS gives smaller carriers a purpose-built drilling setup for posts, footings, landscaping, and other common auger jobs.
Choose the Swing That Fits Your Work
The 1MDS2 keeps things simple with 2-way swing, while the 1MDS4 adds 4-way movement for easier positioning and alignment on uneven ground.
Match the Drive to Your Auger Setup
Choose between 2″ hex and 2-9/16″ round output shafts instead of being locked into a single auger connection.
Get the Mount You Actually Need
The mini-loader mounting plate is included and matched to your machine rather than treating one mount as universal across every mini skid steer.
