Estimated shipping only — your final shipping cost is confirmed at checkout.
The Digga Mini Excavator Auger Drive gives compact excavators a high-torque planetary drilling setup for post holes, footings, landscaping, utilities, agricultural work, and other drilling applications. Four drive options make it possible to match the attachment to both the size of the excavator and its auxiliary hydraulics, starting with the 1DSS for 6–16 GPM and stepping up through the 4DSS for machines producing up to 30 GPM.
All four drives use a compact Digga planetary gearbox and 2″ hex output shaft, with the gearbox designed to follow the drive down into the hole for additional usable drilling depth. HALO is available across the range for an in-cab visual alignment reference, with an optional magnetic battery and zero function for cordless operation and angled drilling.
Features
- Four Drive Options: Choose from the 1DSS, 2DSS, 3DSS, or 4DSS to match hydraulic flow and torque requirements from smaller micro excavators through 5-ton machines.
- High-Torque Planetary Gearbox: Digga’s compact planetary design delivers up to 3,814 ft-lbs. of torque while keeping the drive compact enough for mini excavator applications.
- 2″ Hex Output Shaft: All four models use the same 2″ hex output connection.
- Two-Piece Shaft Design: Digga separates the output shaft from the planetary carrier to handle side loading without transferring additional load into the gearbox bearings.
- Compact Drilling Design: The gearbox can follow the drive farther into the hole, helping maximize usable drilling depth.
- Excavator-Specific Mounting: Digga offers mounting and linkage configurations matched to the excavator rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all mounting setup.
- Optional Pressure Relief Valve: Pressure-relief protection is available to help protect the hydraulic drive and carrier from excessive pressure.
- Optional HALO Alignment System: HALO uses LED indicators around the drive hood to give the operator a visual reference for maintaining alignment from the cab.
- Optional HALO Magnetic Battery: The magnetic battery kit powers HALO without a cable back to the cab and adds the zero function for establishing a custom drilling angle.

Which Digga auger drive should I choose for my mini excavator?
Start with the machine’s auxiliary hydraulic flow. The 1DSS is designed for 6–16 GPM, the 2DSS for 10–26 GPM, and the 3DSS and 4DSS for 10–30 GPM. Once you know which drives fit the hydraulic system, choose based on the torque and drilling capacity your work requires.
What’s the difference between the 1DSS and 2DSS?
The 1DSS is the smaller drive, producing up to 1,691 ft-lbs. of torque and requiring only 6–16 GPM. The 2DSS steps up to 2,625 ft-lbs. and supports 10–26 GPM, giving it more capacity for larger holes and tougher ground.
What’s the difference between the 2DSS and 3DSS?
The 2DSS and 3DSS are physically very similar, but the 3DSS produces more torque. At 3,000 PSI, the 2DSS produces 2,254 ft-lbs., while the 3DSS produces 2,829 ft-lbs. The 3DSS also accepts hydraulic flow up to 30 GPM instead of 26 GPM.
What’s the difference between the 3DSS and 4DSS?
Both are designed for 10–30 GPM and have the same published drilling-diameter recommendations, but the 4DSS produces more torque. Maximum torque increases from 3,294 ft-lbs. with the 3DSS to 3,814 ft-lbs. with the 4DSS, making the 4DSS the better choice when tougher ground conditions are common.
How large of a hole can these drives handle?
Digga rates the 1DSS for drilling diameters up to 24″ in earth and 12″ in clay or shale. The 2DSS, 3DSS, and 4DSS are rated for up to 30″ in earth and 24″ in clay or shale. Actual capacity depends on ground conditions, carrier hydraulics, drilling depth, and the complete drilling setup.
What comes with the excavator package?
Digga’s excavator packages include the selected drive, 87″ hydraulic hoses, flat-face quick disconnects, and the appropriate excavator mount and linkage for the selected configuration.
What mounting options are available?
Mounting depends on the excavator. Digga offers single-pin and double-pin excavator mounting configurations along with several common machine-specific hitch options. The exact machine make and model should be confirmed before ordering.
What is HALO?
HALO is Digga’s optional alignment system. LED indicators around the drive hood provide a visual reference that the operator can see from the cab, making it easier to keep the drive aligned while drilling.
How is HALO powered?
HALO-equipped drives include an extension cable and an in-cab 12V power plug. An optional magnetic battery kit can power the system without running a cable back to the cab.
What does the HALO zero function do?
The optional magnetic battery adds a zero function that lets the operator position the drive at a chosen angle and set that position as the new reference. HALO can then guide the operator back toward that angle if the drive begins to move out of alignment.
Note: Match the drive to the excavator’s auxiliary hydraulic flow, pressure, operating weight, coupler or pin configuration, and attachment capacity. The 1DSS requires 6–16 GPM, the 2DSS requires 10–26 GPM, and the 3DSS and 4DSS require 10–30 GPM. Smaller machines may only be appropriate for the 1DSS, while larger 3- to 5-ton excavators can often support the higher-torque drives.

Match the Drive to the Excavator
Four drive sizes cover hydraulic flows from 6–30 GPM, giving you more room to match torque and flow to the machine instead of forcing one drive onto every excavator.
Put Excavator Reach to Work
An excavator-mounted drive makes it easier to drill in areas that can be awkward to reach with a skid steer or dedicated drilling machine.
Step Up Torque Without Jumping to a Larger System
The range runs from 1,691 ft-lbs. of maximum torque with the 1DSS to 3,814 ft-lbs. with the 4DSS while keeping a compact mini-excavator-sized package.
Get a Machine-Specific Mounting Setup
Excavator mounts and linkage are configured around the carrier, helping create a better fit than a generic attachment interface.
Make Alignment Easier with HALO
Optional HALO gives the operator an alignment reference from the cab, while the magnetic battery and zero function support cordless and angled drilling.
