What can a skid steer 4-in-1 bucket do?
A 4-in-1 bucket combines several common attachment functions into one tool. You can use it closed for digging and loading, open it for grading and back dragging, use it for dozing, or grab brush, logs, roots, and debris with the hydraulic bucket opening.
What is the advantage of a 4-in-1 bucket over a standard bucket?
A standard bucket is primarily used for digging, loading, and carrying material. A 4-in-1 bucket adds hydraulic opening and closing, giving you more control for grading, grabbing material, spreading, back dragging, and cleanup without changing attachments.
What sizes are available?
The Prime Attachments 4-in-1 Bucket is available in 72″, 78″, and 84″ widths.
Should I add digging teeth to the 4-in-1 Bucket?
Digging teeth are a good option if you regularly work in compacted soil, roots, hard ground, or other material where additional penetration helps. If most of your work is grading, scraping, spreading gravel, or handling loose material, the standard cutting edge may be the better fit.
How much does the add-on digging teeth option cost?
The digging teeth option adds $150 to the 72″ bucket, $150 to the 78″ bucket, and $200 to the 84″ bucket.
Are the digging teeth replaceable?
Yes. The optional digging teeth are replaceable, allowing worn teeth to be serviced without replacing the complete bucket.
Can I use the 4-in-1 Bucket to grab brush and debris?
Yes. Opening the bucket allows it to grab and hold brush, logs, roots, demolition debris, and other irregular material that can be difficult to manage with a standard bucket.
Can I use the 4-in-1 Bucket for grading and back dragging?
Yes. The bucket can be opened to expose additional working edges for grading, scraping, spreading material, and back dragging.
Does the 4-in-1 Bucket require auxiliary hydraulics?
Yes. Auxiliary hydraulics are required to open and close the bucket.
Does it require high-flow hydraulics?
Prime does not specify high flow as a requirement. The bucket requires compatible auxiliary hydraulics to operate the opening mechanism, so verify your machine’s hydraulic specifications before ordering.
How do I choose between the 72″, 78″, and 84″ sizes?
Consider your skid steer’s overall width, rated operating capacity, machine weight, and the type of work you plan to do. Wider buckets provide more coverage for grading and cleanup, but they also add attachment weight and require a machine capable of handling the additional load.
Note: Compatibility depends on your machine’s universal quick-attach system, rated operating capacity, auxiliary hydraulics, overall width, and the bucket size you select. These are heavy attachments, starting at more than 1,200 lb. before material is added. Always verify your own skid steer or compact track loader specifications before ordering. Prime Attachments provides a two-year manufacturer warranty, subject to the manufacturer’s terms and exclusions.
Do more without switching attachments.
Dig, load, grade, grab, push, spread, and clean up with the same bucket. That versatility is especially useful when a job moves back and forth between dirt work and material handling.
Get more control during grading.
Opening the bucket gives you additional working edges for spreading material, shaving high spots, back dragging, and making smaller corrections to the grade.
Handle material a standard bucket struggles with.
The hydraulic opening lets you secure brush, roots, logs, demolition debris, and other material that tends to roll or fall out of an open bucket.
Set it up for the way you work.
Choose from three bucket widths and add digging teeth when you need better penetration in compacted ground.
- Digging and loading
- Finish grading
- Back dragging
- Land leveling
- Dozing
- Brush and debris cleanup
- Root and stump cleanup
- Landscaping
- Farm and acreage maintenance
- Construction site work
- Gravel and dirt spreading
- General material handling
