BrushHound | FH Series Skid Steer Flail Mower
Estimated shipping only — your final shipping cost is confirmed at checkout.
The BrushHound FH Series Skid Steer Flail Mower is built for cutting and mulching heavy grass, dense brush, saplings, and woody overgrowth with skid steers and compact track loaders. A heavy-duty flail drum processes vegetation into smaller material as you move, making the FH Series a strong fit for land clearing, pasture reclamation, roadside maintenance, wooded properties, and overgrown job sites.
Choose from 60″, 72″, and 84″ cutting widths based on the machine and the work. The 60FH offers the highest brush capacity at up to 5″, while the wider 72FH and 84FH cover more ground with 4″ and 3″ cutting capacities. All three models use a universal skid steer mount, adjustable cutting height, reversible triple flail knives, and a protected gear-type hydraulic drive.

What is the difference between the 60FH, 72FH, and 84FH?
The primary differences are cutting width, brush capacity, weight, horsepower requirements, and hydraulic flow. The 60FH is the narrowest but has the highest brush capacity at up to 5″. The 72FH cuts up to 4″, while the wider 84FH cuts up to 3″.
What can the FH Series cut?
The FH Series is designed for heavy grass, brush, woody vegetation, and saplings. Maximum published cutting capacity ranges from 3″ to 5″ depending on the model.
Which model has the highest brush capacity?
The 60FH has the highest published capacity at up to 5″. The 72FH is rated up to 4″, and the 84FH up to 3″.
Why does the wider mower have a lower brush capacity?
The wider models distribute the carrier’s available hydraulic power across a larger cutter drum and more knives. The narrower 60FH concentrates its cutting power over a smaller working width, allowing it to handle larger woody material.
What hydraulic flow is required?
The 60FH is recommended for 16–20+ GPM, the 72FH for 18–30+ GPM, and the 84FH for 20–40+ GPM.
Does the FH Series require a case drain?
Yes. A case drain is required on all three models.
Can the cutting height be adjusted?
Yes. The rear roller provides a published cutting-height range of 0″ to 6″.
Are the flail knives replaceable?
Yes. The FH Series uses reversible, replaceable flail knives retained with a castle-nut and roll-pin system.
What does the optional front T-bar do?
The push bumper contacts small trees and tall brush ahead of the mower, helping move vegetation away from the cab before it reaches the cutter drum.
Is a piston motor available?
Yes. The standard FH Series uses a gear-type hydraulic motor. A 5,000-PSI piston motor upgrade is also available.
Note: The correct FH Series model depends on machine horsepower, auxiliary hydraulic flow, operating capacity, and configuration. The 60FH, 72FH, and 84FH have different carrier requirements, so not every machine listed below is appropriate for every width. A case drain is required.

BrushHound provides a six-month limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, subject to its warranty terms and exclusions.
Cut and Mulch Heavy Overgrowth
The FH Series processes brush, grass, saplings, and other dense vegetation with a heavy flail drum, reducing material as it cuts instead of simply knocking it down.
Choose the Right Balance of Width and Cutting Capacity
The 60FH gives you the greatest brush capacity in a narrower footprint, while the 72FH and 84FH increase working width for covering larger areas more efficiently.
Work Across Uneven Ground
The adjustable rear roller helps control cutting height and keeps the mower supported as it moves across fields, wooded ground, roadsides, and reclaimed areas.
Protect High-Wear Components
Internal wear liners, protected bearings, and heavy steel construction help shield the mower from the abrasion and debris that come with regular brush-clearing work.
- Brush clearing
- Land reclamation
- Pasture cleanup
- Overgrown fields
- Wooded properties
- Sapling removal
- Roadside maintenance
- Right-of-way maintenance
- Trail clearing
- Farm and ranch maintenance
- Property cleanup
- Skid steers
- Compact track loaders
