The Maxx Attachments 16″ Timberwolf Forestry Tree Shear is built for demanding land-clearing and forestry operations. Designed to cut trees up to 16 inches in diameter, this heavy-duty skid steer attachment combines powerful hydraulic shearing with a dual-arm grapple that secures trees during cutting. Its high-strength A572 steel construction and replaceable 3/4″ AR400 milled knife edges are designed to withstand repeated use in challenging environments.
For operators clearing multiple trees, the Timberwolf is also available with an optional accumulator arm, sometimes called a bunching arm. This configuration allows the operator to hold a previously cut tree while positioning the shear to cut another, reducing handling time during larger clearing projects. With protected hydraulic lines, an improved shear cylinder, and a 15–30 GPM operating range, the Timberwolf is suited to professional forestry, agricultural land management, and commercial vegetation removal.

Optional Accumulator Arm
The accumulator arm, also called the bunching arm by Maxx, allows the Timberwolf to hold a previously cut tree while the operator cuts another. It’s designed for higher-production clearing where gathering multiple trees before unloading can reduce machine movement and handling time.
Model: 7224D2 / 7378D1

Added Weight: 100 lbs.
Cutting Capacity: 16″
Machine Requirements: Same 3,400-lb. minimum operating capacity and 15–30 GPM hydraulic range
What is the difference between the standard grapple and accumulator arm configurations?
Both configurations include grapple arms that secure trees during cutting. The accumulator arm adds the ability to hold a previously cut tree while cutting another, helping operators gather multiple stems before moving them.
What size trees can the 16″ Timberwolf cut?
The Timberwolf is designed to cut trees up to 16 inches in diameter. Actual cutting performance depends on tree species, wood density, and operating conditions.
Does the Timberwolf require high-flow hydraulics?
Not necessarily. The Timberwolf operates within a hydraulic flow range of 15–30 GPM, allowing it to work with appropriately equipped standard-flow machines.
What size skid steer is required?
Maxx specifies a minimum machine operating capacity of 3,400 lbs. for the 16″ Timberwolf. The machine must also meet the attachment’s hydraulic requirements and safely handle its weight.
Does the Timberwolf include a grapple?
Yes. The 16″ Timberwolf grapple configuration includes dual grapple arms. The accumulator arm is an optional upgrade.
Can the accumulator arm be added later?
The accumulator arm is available as part of the Timberwolf’s bunching configuration. Contact Echo Eqpt to confirm retrofit availability for an existing grapple model.
Are the cutting blades replaceable?
Yes. The Timberwolf uses replaceable 3/4″ AR400 milled knife edges. Its blade adjustment system is designed to simplify maintenance and replacement.
Does the attachment come with hydraulic hoses and couplers?
Yes. Hydraulic hoses and flat-face quick-disconnect couplers are included.
Is a chemical sprayer available?
A chemical sprayer is shown among the available accessory materials. Contact Echo Eqpt to confirm the appropriate sprayer configuration and availability for the 16″ Timberwolf.
Note: The Maxx 16″ Timberwolf Tree Shear requires 15–30 GPM of auxiliary hydraulic flow, a maximum operating pressure of 3,000 PSI, and a minimum machine operating capacity of 3,400 lbs. Verify hydraulic pressure, rated operating capacity, attachment mounting, and hydraulic connections before ordering. Some machines may require hydraulic pressure regulation or other configuration adjustments.
