The SHIELDS John Deere Compact G & P Series polycarbonate excavator windshield replaces the upper or lower cab glass on John Deere 26, 30, 35, 50, PC4, and PC7 compact excavators, with additional fitment for compatible Hitachi ZX-5N machines. Order the upper windshield, lower windshield, or both together as a set.
Choose from 1/4″, 3/8″, or 1/2″ clear polycarbonate, with a 1/2″ tinted option also available. Each windshield is coated on both sides with SUPERCOAT™ for abrasion resistance, UV protection, and continued windshield wiper use. Upper windshields are available in two wiper-mount configurations, so match your existing windshield to the Version A / Version B reference image before ordering.
Which John Deere excavators does this windshield fit?
This windshield fits John Deere 26, 30, 35, 50, PC4, and PC7 compact excavators.
Does this windshield also fit Hitachi excavators?
Yes. Compatible Hitachi models include ZAXIS26U-5N, ZAXIS30U-5N, ZAXIS35U-5N, and ZAXIS50U-5N.
Can I order just one windshield section?
Yes. Choose the Upper Windshield or Lower Windshield individually, or select the Upper + Lower Set to replace both sections together.
What are Version A and Version B?
They are two different wiper-mount configurations used on the upper windshield. Compare the lower corner and wiper-mount area of your existing upper windshield to the Version A / Version B reference image before ordering.
Does the Version A / Version B choice apply to the lower windshield?
No. The wiper-mount version applies only to the upper windshield.
How do I confirm which windshield I need?
Check the OEM glass number first. The upper replaces glass #FYD00006271, and the lower replaces glass #FYD00006272. If you’re ordering the upper, also confirm whether your wiper mount matches Version A or Version B.
What if I don’t see my glass number listed?

What thicknesses are available?
Upper and lower windshields are available in 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ clear polycarbonate.
Is a tinted windshield available?
Yes. A 1/2″ tinted option is available with 50% light transmission.
Can I reuse the original mounting hardware?
Yes. SHIELDS manufactures the windshield around the original glass application so the factory hardware can be reused across the available thicknesses.
Can I use the windshield wiper?
Yes. SUPERCOAT™ is designed for continued windshield wiper use and routine cleaning.
Is the 1/2″ windshield forestry or ballistic rated?
No. Thickness alone does not establish a forestry or ballistic rating. Confirm the protection requirements for your machine and application before use.
