The SHIELDS John Deere D Series polycarbonate excavator windshield replaces the upper or lower cab glass on a wide range of John Deere D Series excavators. The same windshield design also fits compatible Hitachi ZAXIS ZX-3 machines. Order the upper windshield, lower windshield, or both together as a set.

Both windshield sections are curved to match the original glass and are available in 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ clear polycarbonate, with a 1/2″ tinted option also available. SUPERCOAT™ is applied to both sides for abrasion resistance, UV protection, and continued windshield wiper use.

Does this windshield also fit Hitachi excavators?

Yes. Compatible Hitachi ZAXIS ZX-3 models are listed below under Compatible Machines. Confirm the OEM glass number before ordering.

Can I order just one windshield section?

Yes. Choose the Upper Windshield or Lower Windshield individually, or select the Upper + Lower Set to replace both sections together.

How do I confirm which windshield I need?

Check the OEM glass number on your existing windshield when possible. The John Deere upper replaces #T396392 or #4651653, while the lower replaces #T396635 or #4651654.

What if I don’t see my glass number listed?

Call Echo and we’ll help verify the correct windshield for your machine before you order.

What thicknesses are available?

Both upper and lower windshields are available in 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ clear polycarbonate.

Is a tinted windshield available?

Yes. Tint is available in 1/2″ polycarbonate with 50% light transmission.

Are the windshields curved?

Yes. Both the upper and lower windshield are curved to match the original glass.

Can I reuse the original mounting hardware?

Yes. SHIELDS machines the windshield to accommodate the original hardware across the available thicknesses.

Can I use the windshield wiper?

Yes. SUPERCOAT™ is designed for normal windshield wiper use and routine cleaning.

Is the 1/2″ windshield forestry or ballistic rated?

No. Thickness alone does not establish a forestry or ballistic rating. Confirm the protection requirements for your machine and application before use.

I purchased a grapple bucket here, Stinger RG looks like its built to withstand the beatings of brush clearing and rock picking. Here's an update, absolutely love this grapple bucket, I cleared ¼ fence line of small trees, few times I got really abusive to the grapple, it took it like a king!
