TM Manufacturing | HD Skid Steer Log Splitter
The TM Manufacturing Heavy Duty Skid Steer Log Splitter is built for operators who want a serious wood splitter without paying for the full Pro Series frame. It is made for big rounds, firewood, tree service cleanup, farm use, outdoor boiler wood, and property owners who want the skid steer to do the lifting, positioning, and splitting.
The Heavy Duty is available in 30″ and 36″ stroke models with your choice of a single wedge or 4-way wedge. It also gives you a choice between a 4.5″ cylinder or 5″ cylinder, but the 4.5″ cylinder is the setup most customers should choose. It has plenty of splitting force, gives better cycle speed, and still produces serious tonnage. The 5″ cylinder is available for customers who want maximum force, but it takes more oil to move and will slow the cycle down.
Features
- 30″ or 36″ Stroke: Choose the 30″ model for a strong all-around splitter, or the 36″ model for longer firewood and outdoor boiler wood.
- Single Wedge Option: Better for oversized, twisted, knotty, or inconsistent rounds that need one clean split at a time.
- 4-Way Wedge Option: Better for cleaner wood when you want to split rounds into smaller pieces faster.
- 4.5″ Cylinder Recommended: Produces strong tonnage while keeping cycle speed better for most machines.
- 5″ Cylinder Available: Adds more force, but slows the cycle because the larger cylinder requires more hydraulic oil.
- Tonnage Range: 4.5″ cylinder produces about 25 to 30 tons depending on machine pressure. The 5″ cylinder produces about 30 to 35 tons depending on machine pressure.
- Optional Regen Valve: Speed upgrade available for new or existing TM splitters.
- No Viewing Window: The Heavy Duty is similar to the Pro Series, but does not include the viewing-window frame.
- Skid Steer Quick Attach: Built for skid steers and compact track loaders with universal quick attach.
- Machine-Powered Hydraulics: Runs from the skid steer or CTL auxiliary hydraulic system.

What is the TM Heavy Duty splitter?
It is TM’s heavier skid steer log splitter for operators who want strong splitting force without the Pro Series viewing-window frame.
What wedge options are available?
The Heavy Duty is available with a single wedge or 4-way wedge.
Can I switch wedges later?
No. This is not the Pro 2 interchangeable wedge system. Choose the wedge you want when ordering.
Should I choose the single wedge or 4-way wedge?
Choose the single wedge for ugly, knotty, twisted, oversized, or inconsistent wood. Choose the 4-way wedge if you mostly split cleaner rounds and want faster firewood production.
Should I get the 4.5″ or 5″ cylinder?
Most customers should choose the 4.5″ cylinder. It has plenty of tonnage and keeps cycle speed better. The 5″ cylinder adds more force, but it also slows the splitter down.
How much tonnage does the 4.5″ cylinder produce?
About 25 tons at 3,000 PSI and about 30 tons at 3,500 PSI. Actual force depends on your machine’s hydraulic pressure.
How much tonnage does the 5″ cylinder produce?
About 30 tons at 3,000 PSI and about 35 tons at 3,500 PSI. It is stronger than the 4.5″, but slower.
What does the regen valve do?
The regen valve is a speed upgrade. TM says it can make new or existing TM splitters split 33% faster.
How is the Heavy Duty different from the Pro Series?
The Heavy Duty does not have the Pro Series viewing window. The Pro Series is easier to see through when lining up the wedge, while the Heavy Duty keeps the design simpler.
Does it require high flow?
Not necessarily. Flow affects cycle speed, and pressure affects splitting force. A 4.5″ cylinder with the regen valve is usually the better speed-focused setup than jumping straight to a 5″ cylinder.
Which model should I choose, 30″ or 36″?
Choose 30″ for most firewood and faster handling. Choose 36″ if you regularly split longer wood or outdoor boiler lengths.
Note: Best matched with skid steers and compact track loaders with universal skid steer quick attach, auxiliary hydraulics, enough lift capacity, and enough hydraulic flow for the cycle speed you want.

Plenty of Splitting Force
The recommended 4.5″ cylinder produces about 25 tons at 3,000 PSI and about 30 tons at 3,500 PSI, which is plenty for most firewood and cleanup work.
Better Cycle Speed
The 4.5″ cylinder is the smarter setup for most customers because it keeps the splitter moving faster than the larger 5″ cylinder.
Single or 4-Way Wedge
Choose a single wedge for tough, ugly, knotty wood, or choose the 4-way wedge for faster production on cleaner rounds.
Simpler Than the Pro Series
The Heavy Duty gives you a strong skid steer splitter without the Pro Series viewing window, keeping the attachment simpler and more affordable.
-
- Tree service crews breaking down removals, storm cleanup, and jobsite logs.
- Firewood sellers splitting larger rounds with a skid steer or CTL.
- Outdoor wood boiler owners processing longer, heavier wood.
- Farmers and acreage owners cleaning up timber, shelterbelts, trails, and wooded property.
