Estimated shipping only — your final shipping cost is confirmed at checkout.
The Kasco Landscapers Choice Primary Seeder is designed for establishing new grass in prepared soil, making it especially well suited to new developments, commercial landscaping projects, newly graded properties, and other sites where a uniform lawn needs to be established from scratch. As the machine moves across the seedbed, the front press wheels smooth and level the prepared soil, the full-width seed chute distributes grass seed evenly, and the rear press wheels lightly compact the seeded surface for consistent seed-to-soil contact and an even finished grade.
Available in 60″ and 72″ working widths, the Landscapers Choice combines seeding and finish packing in a single pass. Its patented Walking Beam design allows the two rows of cast iron press wheels to follow ground contours, while the ground-driven metering system maintains consistent seed delivery and automatically stops seed flow when the machine stops.

What is the Kasco Landscapers Choice Primary Seeder designed for?
It is designed to establish new grass in soil that has already been graded and prepared for seeding. It is particularly useful on new developments, commercial landscape installations, newly constructed homes, municipal projects, and other sites where bare soil needs to become an even, established lawn.
Does the Landscapers Choice seed and compact the soil in the same pass?
Yes. The front press wheels smooth the prepared soil, the seed chute distributes seed evenly across the working width, and the rear press wheels lightly firm the seeded surface. This improves seed-to-soil contact while leaving a smooth, uniform finish.
Is this a no-till seeder?
No. The Landscapers Choice is a primary seeder for prepared seedbeds. The ground should already be graded and cleared of excessive rocks, debris, and residue before seeding.
Why is packing the soil after seeding important?
Lightly firming the soil around the seed improves seed-to-soil contact, which helps create more consistent germination and reduces the thin or patchy areas that can occur when seed is left loose on the surface.
What is the difference between the 60″ and 72″ models?
The KLS-60 has a 60″ working width, 3.3-Bu. primary seedbox, and weighs 975 Lbs. The larger KLS-72 covers 72″ per pass, has a 4.4-Bu. seedbox, and weighs 1,300 Lbs.
How does the Walking Beam design help?
The Walking Beam system allows the two press-wheel assemblies to follow changes in the ground surface rather than behaving as one rigid roller. This helps maintain more consistent soil contact across uneven grades.
How is the seed distributed?
A baffled seed chute spreads seed across the full width of the machine, helping maintain uniform coverage instead of concentrating seed into narrow rows.
Does seed keep flowing when the machine stops?
No. The metering system is ground driven, so seed delivery stops when the machine stops moving.
Can the seed rate be adjusted?
Yes. The metering rate can be adjusted without replacing seed plates or using special tools. The machine should be calibrated for the specific seed and application rate before use.
Can it be mounted on a skid steer?
Yes. Both the 60″ KLS-60 and 72″ KLS-72 can be equipped with the optional KLS-906 bolt-on universal skid steer hitch. The seeder’s bi-directional design allows it to work effectively in skid steer applications.
Note: Match the seeder to the carrier’s hitch type, lift capacity, and operating capacity. Seeder weights listed below are empty product weights and increase when seed is added. Skid steer configurations also add the weight of the KLS-906 mounting hitch.

Uniform Grass Establishment on New Developments
The Landscapers Choice is particularly useful after the final grading stage of a new development. Instead of seeding bare soil and leaving the seed loose on the surface, the machine distributes seed evenly and lightly firms the soil afterward, creating more consistent conditions for germination across the entire site.
Seed and Finish in One Pass
The front press wheels smooth the prepared seedbed, the seed chute distributes seed across the full width, and the rear press wheels finish the job by lightly packing the seeded surface. This combines several lawn-establishment steps into a single pass.
Consistent Coverage From Edge to Edge
The full-width baffle system helps avoid concentrated areas and thin spots, producing the uniform seed distribution needed for finished lawns, commercial landscaping, and highly visible new construction sites.
Better Seed-to-Soil Contact
The rear press wheels gently firm the seeded surface instead of leaving seed sitting loosely on top of the soil. Better contact gives the seed a more consistent environment for germination and helps produce a more even stand of grass.
