The Prime Attachments Rock + Stump Ripper is a skid steer attachment built for digging out stumps, cutting through roots, prying up rocks, and breaking into hard ground. Its narrow three-tine design concentrates your machine’s force where it matters, making it easier to work around stubborn material without excavating a huge area.
Serrated teeth help bite into roots and compacted soil, while the reinforced frame is built for repeated land-clearing and property-maintenance work. Because the RR model has no grapple or hydraulic function, it stays simple to hook up and put to work.

What is the Prime Attachments Rock + Stump Ripper designed for?
The Rock + Stump Ripper is designed for skid steer operators removing stumps, cutting through roots, prying out rocks, and breaking into hard or compacted ground. It is especially useful for land clearing, property cleanup, and preparing stubborn areas before excavation or grading.
How does the Rock + Stump Ripper remove stumps?
Instead of trying to lift the entire stump at once, the ripper lets you work around the stump and cut or loosen individual roots. The serrated tines and reinforced cutting edge help break through the root system so the stump can be loosened and removed with less unnecessary excavation.
What is the recessed middle tine for?
The middle tine sits slightly behind the outside tines. This staggered design helps the attachment penetrate tough material progressively rather than forcing all three tines to hit at exactly the same point.
Can the Rock + Stump Ripper remove rocks?
Yes. The tines are designed to dig around and underneath embedded rocks so you can loosen and pry them from the ground. The serrated design also gives the attachment additional purchase around irregular material.
Does the Rock + Stump Ripper require hydraulics?
No. The RR Rock + Stump Ripper does not have a hydraulic function, so auxiliary hydraulic flow is not required. It works through the skid steer’s loader arms, tilt function, and machine force.
What is the difference between the RR and RRG Rock + Stump Ripper?
The RR on this page is the base Rock + Stump Ripper without a grapple. Prime’s RRG version adds a hydraulic grapple so the operator can grab and carry material after loosening it. If you primarily need to rip, cut roots, and pry material loose, the RR provides the simpler and lighter setup.
How much does the Rock + Stump Ripper weigh?
The attachment weighs 500 lb. Always account for attachment weight plus the weight and resistance of the material you are working with when determining whether it is appropriate for your skid steer.
Will the Rock + Stump Ripper fit my skid steer?
The attachment uses a universal skid steer quick-attach interface. Most modern full-size skid steers and compact track loaders use this style of mounting system, but you should always verify your machine’s coupler and operating capacity before purchasing.
Can I use it for rocky or compacted soil even if I’m not removing a stump?
Yes. The concentrated tine design also makes the attachment useful for breaking hard ground, loosening embedded rocks, opening compacted areas, and cutting through buried roots before additional excavation or grading.
Note: Compatibility depends on your machine’s quick-attach mounting system, rated operating capacity, machine weight, and intended application. Always verify your own machine’s specifications before ordering. This 500 lb. attachment is intended for compatible full-size skid steers and compact track loaders, not automatically for mini skid steers or compact utility loaders.

Prime Attachments provides a two-year manufacturer warranty on attachment welds, subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms and exclusions.
Put your skid steer’s force where it matters. Instead of spreading digging force across a bucket edge, the narrow tine design concentrates it into roots, compacted soil, and stubborn material.
Work a stump instead of excavating half the property. Serrated tines and a reinforced cutting edge let you attack individual roots and loosen the stump progressively, helping reduce unnecessary digging around the work area.
Break through more than stumps. Rocks, buried roots, compacted soil, and rough ground all give the ripper another reason to stay on the machine during land-clearing work.
Keep the setup simple. Because the RR has no grapple or hydraulic function, there are no hydraulic hoses or cylinders to connect before putting it to work.
