The Prime Attachments Skid Steer Stump Bucket Grapple combines a narrow digging profile with a hydraulic grapple, giving you one attachment for loosening stumps, cutting roots, digging trenches, and carrying material away. The tapered bucket gets into tight areas around roots and rocks, while serrated edges and replaceable digging teeth help break through stubborn ground.
Once the material is loose, the grapple lets you secure stumps, root balls, logs, rocks, and debris without changing attachments. Built from commercial-grade steel with reinforced sidewalls and full-length wear strips, it is designed for demanding land clearing, property cleanup, and excavation work.

What is the Prime Attachments Skid Steer Stump Bucket Grapple designed for?
The Stump Bucket Grapple is built for digging out stumps and small trees, cutting roots, trenching, and working around buried rocks and other obstacles. The hydraulic grapple also lets you grab and carry material once it is loose.
What is the difference between the Stump Bucket and Stump Bucket Grapple?
The standard Stump Bucket is a non-hydraulic digging attachment. The Stump Bucket Grapple uses the same narrow bucket design but adds a hydraulic grapple, allowing you to secure stumps, root balls, logs, rocks, and debris for transport.
How wide does the grapple open?
Prime lists a 53″ grapple opening, giving you room to secure bulky and irregular material such as root balls, stumps, logs, and debris. Prime Attachments Blog
How wide is the digging portion of the bucket?
The bucket is approximately 16″ wide at the rear and tapers down to 12″, creating a narrow digging profile that can work around roots and other buried obstacles.
Can I use the Stump Bucket Grapple for trenching?
Yes. The long, narrow bucket profile makes it useful for trenching and other narrow excavation work in addition to stump and root removal.
Are the digging teeth replaceable?
Yes. The bucket uses three replaceable excavator-style digging teeth, so worn teeth can be serviced without replacing the complete attachment.
Does the Stump Bucket Grapple require auxiliary hydraulics?
Yes. Auxiliary hydraulics are required to open and close the grapple.
Does it require high-flow hydraulics?
Prime does not specify high flow as a requirement. Standard auxiliary hydraulics operate the grapple, but you should verify your machine’s hydraulic specifications and connections before purchasing.
Can it carry the stump after I dig it out?
Yes. That is one of the main advantages of the grapple version. Once you have loosened the stump or root ball, the grapple can secure it so you can lift and move it without changing attachments.
Can I use it for rocks and logs too?
Yes. The grapple can secure other irregular material encountered during clearing work, including rocks, logs, roots, branches, and debris.
Will the Stump Bucket Grapple fit my skid steer?
It uses a universal skid steer quick-attach plate, but mounting style is only part of compatibility. Your machine also needs adequate rated operating capacity and compatible auxiliary hydraulics for the attachment and the material you plan to handle.
Note: Compatibility depends on your machine’s universal quick-attach system, rated operating capacity, auxiliary hydraulics, machine weight, and intended application. Always verify your own skid steer or compact track loader specifications before ordering. A model appearing below does not guarantee compatibility with every year or configuration.

Prime Attachments backs this attachment with a two-year manufacturer warranty, subject to Prime’s warranty terms and exclusions.
Dig and carry with one attachment.
Work around a stump or root system, break it loose, clamp onto it, and move it out of the way without heading back for another attachment.
Get into tight digging areas.
The narrow, tapered bucket puts your skid steer’s digging force into a smaller area, making it easier to work around roots, rocks, fence lines, and other obstacles.
Keep irregular loads under control.
The hydraulic grapple helps hold root balls, logs, stumps, rocks, and debris that would be difficult to keep secure in an open stump bucket.
Use it beyond stump removal.
Trenching, land clearing, small tree removal, rock work, and general property cleanup all give this attachment useful work after the stump is gone.
- Skid steer stump removal
- Small tree removal
- Root cutting and extraction
- Root balls
- Trenching
- Rock removal
- Logs and limbs
- Land clearing
- Fence-line clearing
- Storm cleanup
- Farm and acreage maintenance
- Site preparation
- General property cleanup
