Estimated shipping only — your final shipping cost is confirmed at checkout.
The Maxx Attachments Hydraulic Recovery Winch turns a skid steer or compact track loader into a mobile recovery tool for pulling stuck vehicles, equipment, and other heavy loads. Powered by the carrier’s auxiliary hydraulics, the winch uses a high-torque hydraulic motor to provide controlled pulling power for construction sites, farms, ranches, and other demanding work areas.
Two configurations are available depending on the pulling capacity needed: a 9,000 lb. model and a heavier-duty 12,000 lb. model. The 9,000 lb. model comes with 125 feet of cable and a cable guide (fairlead). The 12,000 lb. model comes with 100 feet of cable. Both configurations put substantial hydraulic pulling power on a skid steer-mounted attachment that can be positioned where recovery work is needed.

What is a hydraulic recovery winch used for?
A hydraulic recovery winch is used to pull stuck vehicles, machinery, and other heavy loads. Common applications include equipment recovery on construction sites, agricultural machinery recovery, and general pulling operations where a skid steer can be positioned safely.
What is the difference between the 9,000 lb. and 12,000 lb. models?
The 9,000 lb. model includes 125 feet of cable with a fairlead, providing additional reach. The 12,000 lb. model offers greater rated pulling capacity with 100 feet of cable.
Does the winch require auxiliary hydraulics?
Yes. The Hydraulic Recovery Winch uses the carrier’s auxiliary hydraulic system to power its high-torque motor.
Can I use this winch on a compact track loader?
Yes, provided the machine has a compatible mounting system and hydraulic capabilities. Machine stability and the intended pulling application must also be considered.
How much does the winch attachment weigh?
Both configurations weigh approximately 1,300 lb.
How long is the winch cable?
The 9,000 lb. model comes with 125 feet of cable, while the 12,000 lb. model comes with 100 feet.
Can this winch recover a vehicle weighing 12,000 lb.?
The 12,000 lb. rating refers to the winch’s rated pulling capacity, not a guarantee that it can safely recover every vehicle weighing 12,000 lb. Actual recovery requirements depend on resistance, terrain, slope, cable configuration, and the stability of the carrier.
Can the winch be used to lift suspended loads?
The Hydraulic Recovery Winch is designed for pulling and recovery applications. It should not be used for overhead lifting or suspending loads unless Maxx specifically approves that application.
Does the skid steer need to be anchored during recovery?
The machine must remain stable throughout the pull. Depending on the load, terrain, and pulling direction, additional precautions may be necessary. Operators should follow the manufacturer’s recovery instructions and never exceed the equipment’s rated capabilities.
Is this winch suitable for farm equipment recovery?
Yes. It can be useful for recovering stuck tractors, implements, and other agricultural equipment, provided the recovery load and conditions are within the winch’s and carrier’s capabilities.
Note: The Hydraulic Recovery Winch weighs approximately 1,300 lb. and requires compatible auxiliary hydraulics. Before ordering, confirm the machine’s mounting system, hydraulic flow and pressure requirements, and ability to remain stable under the intended pulling loads. Winch pulling capacity does not represent the skid steer’s lifting capacity or anchoring capability.

The Maxx Attachments Hydraulic Recovery Winch is covered by Maxx’s limited manufacturer warranty. For standard products, structural components are covered for 12 months, while moving and hydraulic components are covered for 6 months against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Specialty products and third-party components may have different warranty terms, and normal wear or damage from misuse is excluded.
Recover Equipment Without a Dedicated Recovery Vehicle
Use an existing skid steer or compact track loader for recovery work instead of relying on separate recovery equipment for every situation.
Choose Between Pulling Power and Cable Reach
The 12,000 lb. model provides greater rated pulling capacity, while the 9,000 lb. model offers an additional 25 feet of cable.
Put the Carrier’s Hydraulics to Work
The high-torque hydraulic motor uses the machine’s existing hydraulic power, eliminating the need for a separate electric winch power supply.
Bring Recovery Equipment Where It’s Needed
