Product Overview
Description
The Brush Wolf Open Front Compact Brush Cutter is designed for compact utility loaders, mini skid steers, and smaller skid steers that need real cutting performance in tight spaces. Built with the same core components as larger Brush Wolf cutters, this unit delivers strong cutting power in a lighter, more maneuverable package.
The open front design allows the blades to engage material before it reaches the deck, improving efficiency when cutting brush and small saplings. Available in 42 inch and 48 inch models, this cutter is ideal for working in confined areas like fence lines, trails, and around buildings while still handling material up to 4 inches in diameter with the 4801 SF.
Features
- Open front deck design allows blades to engage material immediately for faster cutting
- Optimized for mini skid steers and compact loaders to maximize performance without excess weight
- Cuts up to 4" brush and saplings for real clearing capability in a compact package
- Low and standard flow compatible to run on a wide range of machines
- Right-angle gearbox drive system provides reliable power transfer to the blades
- Durable steel deck construction built for regular clearing work
- Fast material discharge reduces recutting and improves efficiency
Benefits
Built for compact machines
Designed specifically for mini skid steers and compact loaders, allowing operators to maintain lifting capacity while still running a capable brush cutter.
Cuts in tight spaces
Smaller width options make it easy to work around buildings, fences, and narrow access areas.
Efficient open front cutting
The open front deck allows the blades to engage brush first, cutting faster with less push-over compared to closed front designs.
Surprisingly powerful for its size
Capable of cutting brush and saplings up to 4 inches in diameter with the 4801 SF, making it a strong option for property maintenance and light land clearing.

FAQs
What machines is this designed for?
This is built specifically for mini skid steers and compact utility loaders, not full-size skid steers.
What size material can it handle?
It can cut brush and saplings up to about 4" depending on material type and machine power.
Do I need high flow to run this?
No, it is designed to run on low to standard flow machines between 8–25 GPM.
Why choose an open front cutter?
Open front designs allow the blades to contact material first, cutting faster and more efficiently.
Is this good for tight areas?
Yes, this is one of the best options for tight access jobs like backyards, trails, and fence lines.
Can this replace a larger brush cutter?
It’s not meant to replace heavy-duty skid steer cutters, but it excels where access is limited.
