Product Overview
Description
The Eterra ML2500 and ML3500 Mini Skid Steer Auger Drives are compact, high-torque earth drilling attachments designed for mini skid steers and compact loaders. Built for versatility, these auger drives allow operators to drill post holes, plant trees, and run additional tools like cement mixing bowls using the same drive system.
Both models feature a pin-on hitch system and 2-way swivel, allowing for quick attachment changes and improved alignment when drilling in uneven or tight conditions. Whether you're installing fence posts or handling light construction work, these augers provide reliable performance for mini machine applications.

FAQs
What’s the real difference between the ML2500 and ML3500 beyond torque numbers?
The ML3500 doesn’t just hit harder, it maintains speed under load better, meaning less stalling and fewer stops when drilling in clay, compacted soil, or partially rocky ground.
How does this compare to cheaper auger drives?
Lower-end drives tend to stall easier, generate more heat, and wear faster. The planetary gearbox in this unit spreads the load across gears, giving you smoother power delivery and longer life.
Will this actually stay straight when drilling or wander off?
The built-in 2-way swivel mount helps keep the bit aligned as you start the hole, which is one of the biggest differences between clean holes and fighting the machine.
What happens if I hit rock or hard ground?
You’ll typically feel it right away. The higher torque models can push through some resistance, but for consistent rock you’ll want a rock bit or pre-drilling strategy.
Can I run large diameter bits without losing performance?
Yes, but performance depends on your machine and drive choice. Larger bits require more torque, which is where the ML3500 really starts to separate.
How important is hydraulic flow vs pressure on this unit?
Flow controls speed, pressure controls torque. This unit is designed to balance both, but most real-world performance issues come from insufficient pressure rather than flow.
Is this something that will hold up to daily use?
Yes, this is built for regular contractor use, not occasional homeowner jobs, especially when properly matched to the machine and application.
What’s the biggest mistake people make when buying an auger drive?
Undersizing it. Many people choose based on price or machine size instead of ground conditions, which leads to slow drilling and frustration.
Manuals/ Warranty
Eterra Attachments are backed by a limited manufacturer warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship for the original purchaser.
- Structural components and hydraulic cylinders are typically covered for 1 year under normal use
- Gearboxes and drive components are covered, with wear items (such as seals) considered maintenance after the initial period
- Warranty applies to properly operated and maintained equipment within recommended hydraulic and usage specifications
This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper installation, normal wear and tear, or operation outside of rated capacities.
All warranty claims are handled through Echo Equipment, where you’ll work directly with our team to get issues resolved quickly without the runaround.
