Product Overview

Prime Attachments | Skid Steer Telescopic Boom
  • Description

The Prime Attachments Telescopic Boom is built specifically for setting trusses, lifting framing materials, and getting overhead work done without bringing in a crane. If you’re doing pole barns, post frame buildings, or roof systems, this attachment turns your skid steer or tractor into a simple, effective truss-setting machine.

With over 22 feet of reach and the ability to work close to 30 feet when combined with your machine height, you can place trusses from the ground with better control and less setup. It’s a straightforward solution for crews who want to move faster without adding another piece of equipment to the job.

For most truss jobs, this covers everything you need without the cost, scheduling, or hassle of a crane.

  • FAQs

Is this actually enough to set trusses without a crane?

For most residential and post-frame builds, yes. It handles typical truss weights and gives you enough reach to set them safely from the ground.

How many people do I need to set trusses with this?

Typically a small crew can handle it. One operator and a couple of guys guiding trusses is common.

What size trusses can it handle?

That depends on weight, not just size. Most standard wood trusses are well within capacity, especially when not fully extended.

Does it feel stable when placing trusses?

Yes, as long as it’s matched with the right machine. Larger skid steers and tractors provide better stability, especially at full reach.

Why not just use forks or a jib boom?

This gives you far more reach and control, which makes truss placement faster and safer.

Can I still use this for other lifting tasks?

Yes, but it really shines in truss setting and overhead framing work.

    What’s the biggest limitation?

Like any boom, capacity drops as you extend. Staying within limits is key for safe operation.
